Veronica Owens - formal background includes a Bachelor of Arts from UBC (Vancouver) with Majors in English Literature and Art History, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship from Fleming College (Peterborough).
I have always been interested in art. I took art classes in high school, have taught art to elementary school children, and visit art galleries as often as I can. I am a strong believer in life-long learning, community involvement, arts communities, social justice and diversity issues, exploring the outdoors, world travel, reducing my environmental footprint, and the link between nutrition and personal health. I have been a cashier, receptionist, English teacher, private tutor, counselor, box office attendant, sales and customer service representative, assistant curator, oral history interviewer, production assistant, editor, usher, fundraiser, human resources centre coordinator, researcher, public speaker and many other things.
I look forward to new learning opportunities!

Arnold has studied media, culture, and human/computer interaction at the University of Toronto, law at Carleton University in Ottawa, information sciences, finance, and economics at Algonquin College in Ottawa, and fine arts at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. Sharon Moodie’s career spans 30 years in TV and film with stints at PBS, CBC and the NFB. At the NFB in Montreal, Sharon held a variety of positions in programming and marketing in both Studio D the famed women’s studio, Studio A the animation studio, and as head of the Cinerobotique English Unit. She initiated and produced Cinemana an event honouring the women pioneers in film. This event morphed into the Montreal International Women’s Film and Video Festival and she served on its founding board. While at the NFB, Sharon’s transition into the visual arts began. Attending Concordia at night, she completed a degree in Studio Art. Taking advantage of the generous leave of absence benefits she spent 3 years at the Banff centre over a 6 year period. She also was invited to residencies at the Archie Bray foundation in Montana and the Watershed Centre for Ceramic Art in Maine. After years of double-duty, she left the refuge of the NFB, retired and moved to Guelph to start Archibits, a small art related business producing architectural shards for the home and garden market. Archibits became more about business than art and the fantasy of being free to pursue a studio practice never materialized. Sharon closed Archibits several years ago and last September moved to Toronto. In a 180 degree turn Sharon now works with high school students at Cardinal Carter Academy of Art and serves on the board of the Toronto Buddhist Community.
